Ms. Thomas Named FCPS 2019 Outstanding Hourly Employee!
Mr. Dilworth Also Named 2019 Region 5 Outstanding New Teacher
Congratulations to After School Assistant Morgan Thomas who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the FCPS 2019 Outstanding Hourly Employee!
This is Ms. Thomas's third year at Rocky Run and she has come to understand the school’s culture and has perfected the invaluable work that she does with the students. Ms. Thomas started out as the sports coordinator for the after-school program, then while the program manager was out on maternity leave, she took over the entire program for a few months. In that short period of time Ms. Thomas started 4 new clubs, mentored 3 students, coached the boys and girls basketball and volleyball teams and brought both teams to the championships and won! She has worked beyond her regular work schedule to spend extra time with students who struggle academically, which has helped them raise their grades and gain confidence in themselves.
Congratulations to History & Social Studies Andrew Dilworth who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the FCPS 2019 Region 5 Outstanding New Secondary Teacher!
Andrew is the epitome of kindness, which is reflected in his multitude of leadership roles, as well as his strong relationships with students and staff alike. He is always positive, relaxed, and willing to jump in at a moment’s notice, without expecting anything in return. He builds strong relationships by connecting current events to students’ lives and encouraging students at extracurricular activities, even when they get to high school. In addition to connecting with students through hobbies, he is conscientious of helping students build relationships with each other and the world around them, helping them understand what role they want to play in their world, and the power that they have to influence it.
Congratulations also to the other Rocky Run Middle School staff members recognized at FCPS Honors!
